From the mid 70's to the early 90's, Mary Turner (Pattiz) was the most listened to female air personality on contemporary music radio. After leaving radio in 1994, she became an alcohol and drug abuse counselor, working in the field of substance abuse. Today, she continues to be extremely active in the field as a counselor and consultant for the Musicians Union and serves on the Boards of the Musicians Assistance Program, Cedars Sinai Hospital's COACH for Kids, the Young Musicians Foundation, and DARE America. She is a current member of the Betty Ford Center Board of Directors and the Betty Ford Chairman's Council.
