Recommended Prevention Resources

Betty Ford Institute focuses on Education, Research, Recovery and Prevention. Our Strategic Plan defines a growing slate of prevention activities that support families in recovery and high-risk youth and benefit not only those individuals, but the community at large.

Recovery-oriented systems of care feature on ongoing process of systems improvement that incorporates the experiences of those in recovery and their family members, including children and youth. Utilizing a strengths-based, resilience focus, these systems integrate prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery support.

We offer resources for professionals who work with families and children on recovery issues. We also have links to community resources and books.

In our upcoming conference, "Breaking Intergenerational Cycles of Addiction: Parent-Focused Strategies," we will study how parenting skills can be integrated into treatment to help break the intergenerational cycle of addiction.

Please utilize the resources we recommend here and let us know how they work for you.
